A basic rule of mastering roulette is to learn the table. The dealer stands at one end of the table and this is where the wheel is located. The one to 36 boxes are bordered by either a black or red rectangles or ovals and are called the inside bets. Consequently the outside of the numbered boxes are known as the outside bets.
